India thrashed Thailand 17-0 in a Pool A fixture at the ongoing Men's Junior Asia Cup on Sunday at Salalah, Oman.
With the win, the India Colts ended the group stage unbeaten and reached the semi-final of the tournament. They also booked their berth in the Junior Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 which is scheduled to happen in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia between December 5 to 16.

Initially, only three semi-finalists were guaranteed a berth in the World Cup but as Malaysia are hosting the World Cup and have also reached the last four stage in the Asia Cup, the remaining three semi-finalists will progress.
India dominated proceedings right from the beginning and completely outclassed their opponents in the match. Angad Bir Singh scored four times while captain Uttam Singh and Amandeep Lakra scored two each.

The remaining goal came from Araijeet Singh Hundal , Vishnukant Singh, Bobby Singh Dhami, Sharda Nand Tiwari, Amandeep, Rohit, Sunit Lakra and Rajinder Singh.
What next for the India junior hockey team?
India will next take on Pool B runners-up in the first semi-final on May 31 and if they progress to the final, they will face the winners of Pakistan and Malaysia on June 1.
