Ace Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy advanced to the semi-final of the Malaysia Masters 2023 on Friday.
Sindhu outplayed China's YM Zhang 21-16, 13-21, 22-20 in an hour and 14 minutes while Prannoy beat Japan's K Nishimoto 25-23, 18-21, 21-13 to enter the last four stage.

Two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu avenged her loss to Zhang in the All England Open earlier this year. She had also beaten her Chinese opponent at the 2022 Malaysia masters.
Unfortunately, India's Kidambi Srikanth crashed out from the quarter-final after losing to Indonesia's Christian Adinata 21-16, 16-21, 11-21.

PV Sindhu will next face Indonesian shuttler Gregoria Mariska in the semi-final while Prannoy will take on Christian Adinata in the last-four stage.
