India's journey in the 2022-23 FIH Pro League ended on a high as they edged out Argentina 2-1 on Sunday in Eindhoven. With the win, India retained the top spot on the leaderboard with 30 points from 16 matches.
Akashdeep Singh (2') and Sukhjeet Singh (14') handed India the lead while Lucas Toscani pulled one back for Argentina in the 58th minute.
India broke the deadlock through Akashdeep's strike within two minutes of the game but Argentina was soon back in the game in full throttle as they created a chance in the fourth minute but a time interception in the Indian backline kept their lead intact.

The Indians then doubled their lead in the 14th minute from a move that was created by Akashdeep. The goalscorer found Vivek Sagar Prasad with a quality pass who in turn assisted Sukhjeet who netted the team's second goal.
India manage to hold on a two-goal lead until the 58th minute when Argentina were awarded a penalty corner. The first effort was blocked by PR Sreejesh but a second penalty corner was awarded immediately due to dangerous play. Lucas Toscani did not make a mistake in the second effort as he found the back of the net.
