Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Pravin Deotale assured India of a medal at the Archery World Cup Stage 2, in Shanghai, as they reached the compound mixed team final.
The duo, who had won gold in the event at the World Cup in Antalya last month, edged Italy in the semi-final.
Heading into the fourth and final round, Italy's Elisa Roner and Elia Fregnan were two ahead on 119 points. But a perfect score from Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Pravin Deotale forced a shoot-off.

The two teams were tied at a score of 19 even in the shoot-off, but India progressed to the final as their arrow was closer to the centre.
“It was a very good match,” Deotale told the official website World Archery.
“There were some tense moments, but we told ourselves not to give up until the end.”
Vennam and Deotale reached the final for the second successive time. On Saturday, they will take on top seeds Korea in the gold medal match.

Also in action on Saturday will be Prathamesh Jawkar and Avneet Kaur in the compound individual semifinals.
In the recurve eliminations, Dhiraj Bommadevara was the only Indian to progress to the individual quarterfinals. However, he went down 0-6 to Korea's Oh Jin Hyek at the final eight stage.
