Simone Biles might have a future in breaking news if she decides not to compete in gymnastics again. Case in point: The GOAT on Friday scooped NFL beat reporters in announcing Jonathan Owens' signing with the Packers.

Granted, Biles had the inside track on the news, considering she and Owens were married in Cabo, Mexico, on Saturday. (They were legally married last month in Houston.)

Biles' scoop that Owens, the former Texans safety, had signed with Green Bay is news in itself. Indeed, Biles' report was published about eight minutes earlier than Owens' own tweet confirming the signing:

Owens' agent, Sunny Shaw, later said his client signed a one-year contract with Green Bay.

National reporters such as Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network made sure in their own tweets about Owens' signing to credit Biles with breaking the news:

Owens, 27, adds depth to the Packers' secondary after starting 17 games for the 3-13-1 Texans in 2022. He spent the first four years of his NFL career in Houston, playing in 31 games (19 starts) and recording one interception, five passes defensed and a sack. He also has 143 total tackles, including 125 in 2022.

Here's to the next time Biles can break news of her husband's next NFL career move.
