Among the several teams which suffered quarterback woes during the 2023 season are the New York Giants, who lost Daniel Jones to a knee injury in Week 9 of last year.
Nearly 10 months later, the 27-year-old is reported to have made a full recovery and looks to return to the field ahead of the regular season. Jones is looking to revert to his old self, who threw for 3,205 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2022.
Though he struggled in the first half of the 2023 season, a fresh start could be just what the quarterback needs to get himself and his team back into playoff contention.
Here's an injury update on Jones, who is ready for his first game action since last November.

Daniel Jones injury update
Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters Sunday that Jones will start in the team's second preseason game against the Houston Texans. The game on Saturday will mark his first appearance since suffering a torn ACL last November.
Before his injury in Week 9 against the Raiders, the 2023 Giants were already struggling at a dismal 1-4 record with their only victory coming in the form of a narrow three-point win against the Arizona Cardinals. Up until that point, Jones had thrown six interceptions and only two touchdowns for a total of 900 yards.
As he enters his sixth year in the league, Jones has looked solid in training camp so far. Nevertheless, his instincts will be tested this weekend in a live game for the first time in just under 10 months with no red jersey to protect him.
Giants QB depth chart
Backup quarterback Drew Lock started the Giants' first preseason game last Thursday before exiting early with a hip injury. He is expected to sit out several practices leading up to their Week 2 matchup, and third-string slinger Tommy DeVito will support Jones in the meantime.
Daboll said the team is not planning on adding another quarterback as they monitor Lock's recovery. Here's a look at the three passers on New York's current depth chart.
