When the 2020-21 NBA season begins on Tuesday, Dec. 23, things will look a little different throughout arenas.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, attendance will be limited in cases where fans are permitted to attend games. All 30 NBA teams have worked with their respective local health officials to develop health and safety protocols for the upcoming season.
As the season begins, six teams will permit limited fans in their respective arenas, while the San Antonio Spurs plan to permit fans on Jan. 1 (as per local time). The Atlanta Hawks, who plan to permit limited friends and family to attend their first five home games, plan to begin opening their doors to fans on Jan. 18 (as per local time).
The Toronto Raptors, who have made a temporary home in Tampa, FL for at least the first half of the upcoming season, will allow under 20% capacity for each of their home games at Amalie Arena.
