Women's basketball in India is surely on the rise. In the past month, three girls - all alumni of the NBA Academy Women's Camps - committed to high schools in the United States.
On July 10th, 17-year-old 6'3" forward Harsimran Kaur committed to the Central Pointe Christian Academy, a school located in Kissimmee, Florida. On July 29th, 16-year-old 6'2" forward Ann Mary Zachariah committed to the Life Prep Academy in Wichita, Kansas.
Last but not least, on August 11th, 17-year-old 5'7" point guard Siya Deodhar also committed to the Life Prep Academy in Wichita, Kansas.
In a sitdown for the NBA Academy, the trio, who have known each other since their U16 days, discussed how they first met each other and bonded through the NBA Academy Women's Camps while reiterating their recent commitments to their respective prep schools in the United States.

Deodhar, hailing from Nagpur, Maharashtra, has not been far behind. She's also received the invitation to camps that Kaur has attended.
She is one of only three girls to have attended all three NBA Academy Women's Camps in India so far and is the only one to have received an award in each one of them.
