Since the COVID-19 pandemic forced social distancing, nearly every week of the past month, the NBA Basketball Schools program in India has brought in a student-athlete from the NBA Academy India to inspire the kids by sharing their story and answering questions.
A few days back, 2020 Basketball Without Borders Global Alum Siya Deodhar joined the live session.
Here's the complete video of her interaction with the budding young ballers of the NBA Basketball School program:
Deodhar has been among the top rising female prospects in India, especially over the course of 2019.
She has been part of every one of the three NBA Academy India Women's Camps that have been held since May of 2018. That's not all, she has actually been a recipient of an award in each camp - Most Improved Player Award (May 2018), Teammate Award (Jan & Oct 2019).
In April of 2019, she was one of just seven Indians (1 of 4 girls) invited to NCAA Next Generation Showcase in Tampa, Florida. Half a year later, she was one of just four Indians (1 of 2 girls) to be invited to the Basketball Without Borders Asia Camp in Tokyo, Japan.
And most recently, at the All-Star Weekend 2020 in Chicago, she was one of three Indians (1 of 2 girls) to be invited to the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp.
