Warriors' Draymond Green out at least two weeks with calf/disc issue image

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will be out a bit longer, it seems. The team announced Sunday that Green will be out at least another two weeks as he recovers from a back and left calf issue.

Green exited last Sunday’s game — a 96-82 home win vs. Cleveland — due to a sore left calf and, per the team, has been evaluated by several specialists over the last week. In addition, he had an MRI of his lower back the night of that game to help determine the cause of the soreness/tightness in his calf.

Those evaluations revealed the left calf soreness and tightness is “tied to the involvement of a disc in his lower back,” the Warriors said.

Green missed his fourth straight game on Sunday, a 119-99 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he believes a cautious approach will suit the 10th-year veteran best. On the brighter side, star guard Stephen Curry avoided a serious injury, experiencing only soreness after falling hard on his right hand on Friday. He headed home early for treatment and has a chance to play on Tuesday.
