Vince Carter says 2019-20 season will be his last: 'I've got one more in me' image

Let the farewell tour begin.

Vince Carter announced on ESPN's  The Jump  that the 2019-20 season, his 22nd in the league, will be his last.

"I've got one more in me," Carter told Rachel Nichols and Stephen Jackson. "One more run."


Carter announced at the end of this past season that he will return for the 2019-20 season, setting an NBA record.

Carter's 22nd season in the league breaks the tie between himself, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett, Kevin Willis and Robert Parish for most seasons played in NBA history. Carter has played for eight different teams over an illustrious 22-year career.

This past season with the Atlanta Hawks, Carter still found a way to provide quality minutes at age 42. He posted 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game over an average of 17.5 minutes of playing time.

Carter signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks in 2018 free agency and will be a unrestricted free agent this offseason, giving him free reign to choose which NBA franchise he will end his career with.
