According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the nine-time All-Star agreed to a two-year, $7.8 million contract extension with LA on Saturday. It represents a steep pay cut for the point guard, who earned more than $47 million last season alone.

Westbrook began the 2022-23 campaign with the Lakers. He played in 52 games for the team, starting just three, before being traded to the Jazz on February 9. After reaching a contract buyout agreement with Utah, he then signed with the Clippers, where he started 26 games before being eliminated by the Suns in the first round of the playoffs.
