In the battle between AFC East foes, the Bills came out on top 23-20 despite some very sloppy play from both teams.

The Jets opened the game with a field goal on their first drive, a good sign of progress with their new offensive play-caller Todd Downing. The Bills answered right back with a Josh Allen rushing touchdown to take a 7-3 lead, but the Jets countered with a Garrett Wilson receiving touchdown of their own to make the score 10-7.

From there, the game started to get weird. The Bills drove down the field in part due to a broken-play pass from Josh Allen to running back Ray Davis, and they capped the drive with an Allen touchdown to Mack Hollins. The Bills went on to add another touchdown right before halftime with an Allen throw to Knox, giving Buffalo a 10-point lead.

The Jets got the ball with around 20 seconds left in the half, but amazingly New York, executed a scoring drive with that little time. Aaron Rodgers heaved a Hail Mary with no time left on the clock, and Allen Lazard came down with the ball in the end zone, making it a three-point Bills lead at halftime.

The second half got even uglier. as each team only scored three points, with Rodgers throwing a game-ending interception when an open Mike Williams slipped with two minutes left, essentially sealing the game.

The Jets and Bills each committed 11 penalties for a combined 204 yards, including several pass interferences, roughing the passers, and personal fouls. Both teams also missed kicks, as Greg Zuerlein missed two field goals and Tyler Bass missed a field goal and an extra point.

Ultimately, the Bills move to 4-2 and grab a 1.5-game lead as AFC East leaders, while the Jets fall to 2-4 and are now in third place. New York will play in Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football next week, while the Bills host the Titans.
