Report: Trae Young agrees to five-year rookie maximum extension with Atlanta Hawks image

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Atlanta Hawks and Trae Young have agreed five-year, $207 million designated rookie maximum extension.

The 22-year-old is coming off his first postseason, where he averaged 28.8 points and 9.5 assists. With those numbers, he led the fifth-seeded Hawks to just the franchise's second Conference Finals ever and first since 2015.

He went off a playoff career-high 48 points in Game 1 on the road in Milwaukee that gave the Hawks franchise their first-ever win in the Conference Finals.

Less than an hour after the report from Wojnarowski, Young took to social media, sharing his reaction to staying in Atlanta.

From the 2018 Draft class, the Hawks superstar is the second player after OKC Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to sign a rookie max extension.
