The Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a deal that sends 6-foot-8 wing Rodney Hood to Portland in exchange for Canadian Nik Stauskas and third-year guard Wade Baldwin IV.

Hood, a five-year veteran out of Duke, is averaging 12.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game this season while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 36.3 from long range. He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019 as he signed a one-year qualifying offer with the Cavs in the 2018 offseason.

The acquisition of Hood is big for the Blazers (32-20), who currently sit in the West's fourth seed with just over two months remaining in the season.

Stauskas, a native of Mississauga, ON, signed a one-year deal with the Blazers in 2018 and will also be a free agent this offseason. Through 44 games, the Canadian is averaging 6.1 points in 15.3 minutes per game. He's hit two or more 3-pointers on 10 different occasions this season.

Baldwin, who was taken by Memphis with the 17th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, is a reserve guard that has only appeared in 16 games this season. His averages through 56 career games are 3.1 points and 1.4 assists.

The Trail Blazers are back in action Tuesday when they host the Heat while the Cavs return to the floor against the Celtics Tuesday.
