Mike departed Orlando this morning and returned to Columbus, Ohio for the birth of his son.
Per the league's COVID-19 policies, Conley will have to quarantine for at least four days upon his return to Florida, meaning he will likely miss at least the first two games of the first-round series with Denver.
He's received an outpouring of support for his teammates for a decision that's much bigger than basketball.
The 32-year-old was beginning to find his stride, averaging 18.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds over six games during the NBA restart. In his absence, Joe Ingles, Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson will assume more playmaking responsibilities.
The Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets open up the 2020 NBA Playoffs as they meet at 11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17.
