NBA League Pass witnesses steep growth in India after entertaining 72-game 2020-21 season image

The 72-game shortened 2020-21 season will go down in NBA history as one of the most entertaining and unique years ever.

From the short 2020 offseason, to players being ruled out over an extended period due to health-and-safety protocols, to nearly all activities of the All-Star Weekend being held on the Sunday, to a thrilling regular-season finale which saw all 30 teams take the floor on the same day with nearly every playoff seed in each conference in question.

With multiple teams breaking the all-time benchmark for best offences ever, this season also resulted in the setting and breaking of multiple all-time franchise and league records.

One notable feat from this season includes Russell Westbrook passing Oscar Robertson for the most career triple-doubles ever.

Fans in India witnessed all of this action on NBA League Pass at a record rate. The total number of viewers is up by 40% while the total watch hours are up 60%.

Globally, League Pass saw a 20% uptick in their number of subscribers with the average minutes watched per game going up by 15%.

These numbers from League Pass go hand-in-hand with the NBA's growth across its other digital channels.
