A couple of years before completing high school, he had already committed to playing for the University of Virginia.

He represented the Virginia Cavaliers for three years, with him receiving a lot of recognition in the final couple of years (2018, 2019) - 2 x First-Team All-ACC, 2018 ACC Tournament MVP, and 2× Third-team All-American.

His college career culminated with the highest of highs possible - an NCAA Championship.

In the 2019 NCAA Tournament, he sunk in three consecutive clutch free throws with 0.6 seconds left against Auburn to lead the Virginia program to their first-ever Final Four appearance.

In the final, he scored 24 in an 85-77 overtime win against the Texas Tech for Virginia's first national title.

Guy was picked 55th overall in 2019 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks before being traded to the Sacramento Kings. With the Kings, he signed a two-way contract.

Skill set

As a guard, Guy has the shooting numbers from college to be relevant in the league. In 106 games for the Cavaliers, he has averaged 12.5 points on 43.3% shooting from the field and 42.5% from beyond the arc.
