The Dallas Mavericks have their duo of the future set.

According to multiple reports, 7-foot-3 forward Kristaps Porzingis has reached an agreement to re-sign with the Mavericks on a five-year deal worth $158 million.

Porzingis, who will be 24-years-old this upcoming season, joins 2019 Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic as the franchise's future cornerstones. Dallas took a risk in acquiring Porzingis ahead of the 2019 trade deadline in knowing that he would be a restricted free agent this offseason and that he was recovering from a serious injury.

He sat out the entirety of the 2018-19 season after suffering a torn ACL in February of 2018. Prior to going down with the injury, Porzingis earned a nod for the 2018 All-Star Game with averages of 22.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while connecting on nearly five 3-point attempts per game at a 39.5% clip.

The Mavericks, who finished with a 33-49 record in the 2018-19 season, will officially usher in a new era of basketball after 2011 Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki announced his retirement following 21 seasons with the franchise.
