NBA Free Agency 2019: Enes Kanter reportedly agrees to deal with the Boston Celtics image

The Boston Celtics continue to stay busy this offseason.

According to a report from The Athletic's Shams Charania, free agent centre Enes Kanter has agreed to sign a two-year deal with the Celtics worth $10 million. The second year of the contract will be a player option.

Kanter's manager, Hank Fetic, had earlier taken to Twitter to announce his client's decision prior to Charania, providing the financial specifics of the deal.

Boston has reportedly reached an agreement with the 27-year-old big man just one day after reports surfaced that the team was set to sign free agent point guard Kemba Walker to a four-year max contract.

After coming up short in the 2019 Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Celtics have revamped their roster through the draft and free agency and look to take that next step in the East next year. Kanter stands to help this team in its pursuit of becoming a title contender as he is coming off of a season in which he averaged 13.7 points and 9.8 rebounds in 67 games with the Knicks (44) and Trail Blazers (23).

In 16 postseason games (14 starts) with the Blazers, Kanter posted averages of 11.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while shooting 51.4% from the field. He adds frontcourt depth to a Celtics roster that has reportedly lost both Aron Baynes and Al Horford.

Players can negotiate agreements with teams on July 1st but contracts can't be officially signed until the new league year begins on July 7.
