NBA Finals 2019: Klay Thompson suffers knee injury, won't return to Game 6 image

Klay Thompson will not return in Game 6 of the NBA Finals because of a knee injury, the Golden State Warriors announced.

The five-time All-Star fell awkwardly following a dunk attempt in transition in the third quarter. He went to the floor, immediately grabbed his left knee and was eventually helped to the locker room.

Thompson quickly returned to take two free throws — otherwise he would've been ruled ineligible to play the rest of the game — but he was immediately removed afterwards so he could go to the locker room to get his knee checked out.

Thompson was later seen walking near the Warriors locker room with crutches.

Thompson was the game's leading scorer before his injury with 30 points. He made eight of his 12 shot attempts, including four of his six 3-point attempts.
