NBA Awards 2019: Pascal Siakam named 2018-19 Most Improved Player image

Pascal Siakam, from the 2019 NBA Champions Toronto Raptors, was named the Most Improved Player for the 2018-19 season.

In 80 games (79 starts) this season, Siakam averaged career-highs in points (16.9), rebounds (6.9), assists (3.1), field goal percentage (.549) and three-point percentage (.369).  Last season, he averaged 7.3 points (+9.6 this season), 4.5 rebounds (+2.4 this season) and 2.0 assists (+1.1 this season).

He not only played a critical role in the Raptors' 58-win season but also played a huge role in their run to the franchise's first-ever title.

Here's how the voting went down for the MIP Award:

The 25-year-old from Cameroon became the first player in franchise history to win the award.

This is Siakam's second individual accolade, after being named the 2017 NBA D-League (now G-League) Finals MVP while leading the Raptors 9O5 to the D-League title.
