NBA Academy India Women's Program alum Harsimran Kaur commits to Central Pointe Christian Academy in Florida image

This past Friday (July 10th), Harsimran Kaur announced her commitment to Central Pointe Christian Academy, a school located in Kissimmee, Florida, for the final year of her high school. 

The 6'3" power forward, who only recently made her national team debut for India in December 2019, will be representing the CPCA's White Tigers

In her Instagram post, she also stated that news on where she would play D1 college basketball in the United States would also be announced soon. 

The 17-year-old Kaur, who is among the rising young stars of the Indian women's basketball division, is the second Indian girl (after Asmat Kaur Taunque) in as many years to play high school basketball in the United States 

Since the beginning of 2019, she has been selected for multiple national and global development camps including the NCAA Next Generation Showcase in April 2019, the Basketball Without Borders Asia Camp in Tokyo last year and most recently the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp held during the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago.

She has attended and earned accolades at the two most recent NBA Academy India Women's Camps.

In the camp held at the at Jaypee Greens Integrated Sports Complex in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) in January of 2019, she won the Defence Award. She followed that up by winning the camp MVP award at the next camp held in Mumbai during the week of the first-ever NBA India Games.

In November of 2019, she made history by becoming the first prospect from the NBA Academies Women's Program and the first female prospect from outside of Australia to attend The NBA Global Academy as part of a multi-week training program.

A couple of months later, she earned a second trip to the NBA Global Academy at Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence in Canberra.
