NBA 2K was prominent in the news cycle in early July after announcing the first cover athlete of NBA 2K23, along with the release date for the world's best basketball video game.

Who is on the cover of NBA 2K23?
On July 5, 2K Sports announced that the great Michael Jordan will be on the cover of both the "Michael Jordan Edition" and "Championship Edition" of NBA 2K23.

In years past, 2K has had several different covers for different editions. Last year, Luka Doncic donned the cover of the standard edition of 2K, while the trio of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant were on the cover of the "NBA 75th Anniversary Edition."
Additionally, in NBA 2K22, Candace Parker became the first WNBA player to ever grace the cover of NBA 2K.
On July 6, 2K Sports revealed that Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird are on the cover of the WNBA edition of NBA 2K23.

There had been reports that Devin Booker was going to be a cover athlete. On July 7, the Suns' star shared the cover of the standard edition of NBA 2K23.

When does NBA 2K23 come out?
The release date for NBA 2K23 is set for Friday, September 9, 2022.
You can pre-order the game for all platforms on Thursday, July 7, 2022.
