The Celtics were briefly without Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Bucks.

Smart exited the game with a right shoulder stinger and a right quadriceps contusion but returned to action after receiving attention in the locker room.

In between Games 1 and 2, Celtics head coach Ime Udoka described Smart's quad contusion as "pretty bad," placing his status in question for the second game of the series.

After dropping Game 1, the Celtics look to bounce back to even things up against the defending champs.

Is Marcus Smart playing tonight vs. Bucks?

After initially being listed as questionable on the injury report, Smart has been downgraded to out and will not play in Game 2.

Through the Celtics' first five playoff games, Smart is averaging 15.2 points, 6.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.

In Smart's absence, Boston will rely on guards Payton Pritchard and Derrick White.
