The Denver Nuggets were in a very familiar place, trailing 3-1 heading into Game 5 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite threatening to pull off another double-digit comeback in the fourth quarter, the Lakers held on thanks to an epic performance from LeBron James

Final - Lakers 117, Nuggets 107

-THAT'S IT. THE LAKERS ARE BACK IN THE NBA FINALS!!

-An incredible run for the Nuggets has come to an end. Foul trouble in the first half for Jokic and a hobbled Murray will end their season as the LeBron closed the door on another miraculous comeback.

-LeBron James is going OFF! He has scored the last nine points for the Lakers and they surely now have finished this game and will be heading to the NBA Finals! LeBron has 38 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists as the Lakers lead 115-103 with 1:57 left.

-Danny Green responds with a triple and then LeBron knocks down a long two and it's back out to 108-99 with 3:40 left.

-Jokic with a beautiful reverse finish through contact and he knocks down the free-throw. Denver WILL NOT go away. 103-99 with 4:30 left!

-AD continues to come up clutch and buries a huge triple to extend the Lakers lead to 10 points with six minutes left....an early dagger?

-LeBron looks at the official and calls for the and-1 while in mid-air!

-LeBron is relentlessly attacking early in the fourth. He's already made two trips to the free-throw in the 4th line but the Nuggets aren't going away. 95-90 with 8:30 left.

-Before we get started in the fourth, take a look at this RIDICULOUS block from AD in slo-mo!

End of the 3rd - Lakers 87, Nuggets 84

-Anthony Davis with the clutch triple with only a second left on the clock but we have a HUGE fourth quarter ahead of us with the Lakers leading 87-84.

-The Nuggets are ROLLING. A 25-10 run for Denver and it's all square at 84-84 wit 11 seconds left in the quarter! Incredible run from the Nuggets.

-Porter Jr. knocks down a three and the Nuggets close to the gap to 7 points with four minutes left to go in the third.

-Jerami Grant knocks down the corner three and the Nuggets are just staying alive. Lakers lead 76-66 with 5:46 left in the third quarter. 

-Anthony Davis moves into double-digits and the Lakers are threatening to blow this game away. They lead 70-56 with 8:57 to go in the third.

-In further bad news for Denver, Murray is dealing with right knee soreness. He is staying in the game but he looks sore.

-Can Denver mount another wild second-half comeback to keep their season alive? Jokic has nine points in just eight minutes as foul trouble has once again plagued the All-Star. Denver will need their big man to stay on the floor if they are any chance.

Halftime - Lakers 61, Nuggets 51

-Murray misses a long two at the buzzer and the Lakers will take a double-digit lead into the half. 

-A huge issue for Denver is Los Angeles scoring in the paint. The Lakers already have 34 paint points - they were averaging 49 per game in the series coming into this game.

-4:34 remaining in the first half and the Lakers lead 51-42. Caruso has 11 points for the Lakers on 5-for-5 shooting.

-LeBron has eight points in the first five minutes of the second quarter and the Lakers lead is out to 44-36. Danger period for Denver. 

-Timeout called by the Nuggets with the Lakers leading 39-36 with 8:49 to go in the half. Without Jokic, this is a pivotal stretch for Denver to try and keep touch with the Lakers.

-Vogel took McGee out of the game and Caruso immediately draws a foul on Jokic after the big man identified the mismatch. HUGE moment in the game and Jokic is back on the bench with three fouls!

-Jokic with four quick points to start the second quarter, taking JaVale McGee to the basket with ease and then draws another foul. Strong play from Jokic to start the quarter.

End of the 1st - Lakers 33, Nuggets 30

-It's been a strong start for Denver but foul trouble could be an issue. Jokic, Porter Jr. and Harris already have two fouls each.

-LeBron finds Caruso on a cut to the basket and the Lakers will take a 33-30 lead at the end of the first. James has three assists through the first 12 minutes.

-Michael Porter Jr. has seven points off the bench and the Nuggets have taken back the lead. It's Denver 23-21 with 2:50 left in the first.

-Jokic picks up his second foul and is forced to the bench with six minutes to go in the first quarter. It's the third game in the series that Jokic has found himself in foul trouble. Lakers now lead 13-12.

-Gary Harris knocks down a triple and Denver lead 12-7 with 6:54 to go in the first as Frank Vogel calls time. Great energy defensively for the Nuggets in the first five minutes.

-Nikola Jokic is active early with five quick points and a steal on an inbound pass to set up Jerami Grant for the two.

-Anthony Davis is a confirmed starter after tweaking his ankle in game 4.

-Just a few minutes from tip - LeBron has been a monster in closeout games so far these playoffs. What does he have in store for game 5?
