LeBron James is now the sole owner of yet another all-time NBA record.
On Thursday, the NBA announced that James has been selected as a starter in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, marking an unprecedented 20th selection for the 21-year veteran. The first and only time James missed out on an All-Star selection was during his rookie campaign in 2003-04.
20 years later, James is averaging 24.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.2 rebounds through the first half of the season. And while his seven-year run as the overall leading vote-getter has come to an end, James will be the West's captain after receiving the most votes in the conference.
"I've exceeded expectations of my career, so it's just humbling, it's very cool to be able to continue to have accomplishments throughout your career," James said of his selection. "I've exceeded anything further than what I ever dreamed about that I would be in the NBA — and I did that a long time ago.
"Everything else is kind of just extra credit and I'm very humbled by still being able to play the game that I love and have these accomplishments along the way."
Here is where James' latest accolade places him in the history book.
