The injury bug strikes again for the Los Angeles Lakers.

All-Star forward LeBron James suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of Saturday's contest against the Atlanta Hawks and the team announced he will not return to the game.

James stayed in the game for a moment after the injury occurred, knocking down a 3-pointer before exiting for the locker room.

After undergoing X-rays which came back negative, he was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and will be sidelined infefinitely, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. James will undergo an MRI post-game.

This comes as a tough blow to the Lakers, who have already been without superstar forward Anthony Davis for the past month with an Achilles injury.

James is enjoying an MVP-calibre season, averaging 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game, leading Los Angeles to the second-best record in the NBA despite missing his star counterpart for nearly half of the team's games.

Even more impressively, at 36 years old, in Year 18, James has only missed one contest this season.
