After delivering a record-breaking performance in Game 4, Jalen Brunson will attempt to lead the Knicks past the 76ers and into the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
Brunson set a new franchise postseason record with 47 points in New York's 97-92 win over Philadelphia, pushing the Knicks to a 3-1 series lead. The All-Star guard surpassed Bernard King (46 points in 1984) on the team's playoff scoring list, but he is still completely focused on the task at hand.
"I'll look back when I retire," Brunson said. "It's great right now. It helped us get a win, but it's not gonna do anything for us going forward."
The Sixers, meanwhile, find themselves on the brink of elimination despite strong play from their dynamic duo. Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey combined to score 50 points in Game 4, though they did struggle in the fourth quarter, shooting 2-of-13 from the field.
"When adversity hits, we know how to bounce back from it," Maxey said. "I think we feel like we're very capable of winning three games in a row. ... We've been very, very, very close in a lot of these games."
Can the Knicks shut the door on the 76ers in Game 5? Or will Philly get a road win and extend the series?
