Days after being traded from Milwaukee to Portland, Jrue Holiday has been rerouted to another contender.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Trail Blazers have agreed to a trade that will send Holiday to the Celtics.
Last season, Holiday earned the second All-Star selection and fifth All-Defensive Team selection of his 14-year career. The 33-year-old is still one of the NBA's premier perimeter defenders and joins a Boston team that has made major moves this offseason, including the acquisition of Kristaps Porzingis.
Over three seasons with the Bucks, Holiday averaged 18.5 points, 6.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. No contribution was greater than his role in 2020-21 when he helped lead Milwaukee to the second NBA title in franchise history.
Holiday's time in Milwaukee ended on Wednesday, Sept. 27, as he was traded to Portland as part of the blockbuster deal that made Damian Lillard a Buck. Portland, which is rebuilding for the future, quickly rerouted Holiday to a team reportedly high on his wish list.
