Brooklyn Nets reserve Jared Dudley and Philadelphia 76ers swingman Jimmy Butler were both ejected following a brief scuffle in the third quarter of Game 4 of their first-round series at Barclays Center.

The altercation broke out following Joel Embiid's hard foul on Jarrett Allen as he attacked the rim for a layup, which Dudley took exception to, shoving the 76ers big man. Butler responded, confronting Dudley, when a scrum of players including Ben Simmons spilled into the first row under the basket.

The officials assessed Embiid a Flagrant 1 for his foul which kicked off the melee, tossing Butler and Dudley for escalating the situation.

The two teams have been trading barbs over the course of the series, from Simmons and Dudley's back-and-forth in the media, while Embiid picked up a Flagrant 1 in Game 2 for elbowing Allen in the face on a move to the basket.

He later apologised for the incident in his post-game press conference, saying the move was not intentional.
