Late on Tuesday (Sep. 14), the Basketball Federation of India announced the senior women's basketball team for the upcoming FIBA Women's Asia Cup Division A in Jordan.
The roster includes three youngsters who have previously participated in at least one of the three NBA Academy Women's Camps conducted in India between 2018 and 2019.
The trio is headlined by 19-year-old Vaishnavi Yadav. The 5-foot-9 shooting guard was named the Co-MVP of the NBA Academy India's first-ever Women's camp in May of 2018.

The other former NBA Academy girls part of the senior team are Pushpa Senthil Kumar and Sreekala Rani. Both 20-year-old forwards (during FIBA Women's Asia Cup Division A tournament) along with Yadav were part of the 18 selected for the first-ever Academy Women's camp.
Sreekala Rani also participated in the second Academy Women's Camp in Jan. 2019.

India's first game against Japan, the five-time Asia Cup defending champions and Tokyo 2020 silver medalists, is the tournament opener.
As per FIBA's release, this time Division B will be conducted and it will be held from Nov. 3 to Nov. 7, also in Amman, Jordan. India will have to stay on its toes to ensure it doesn't get relegated to Division B for the second time in three Asia Cups.
