On Day 1, August 22, both Indian squads - boys and girls - were slated to play their group games in the Qualifying Draw and try to qualify for the Main Draw at the FIBA 3X3 U18 Asia Cup in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
While the Indian girls achieved it by going unbeaten in Pool A of their Qualifying Draw, the boys fell one win short.

The top two from the group - India and Thailand - qualified for the Main Draw.
India is slotted with New Zealand and Turkmenistan in Pool C of the Main Draw.

At 14, India were the lowest-ranked squad in the Qualifying Draw and yet they topped it. In the Main Draw, the Indian girls need to be among the top two in Pool C to qualify to the Quarterfinals.
Men
For the boys, they needed to go unbeaten in the Qualifying Draw in order to proceed to the Main Draw.
Unfortunately, they came up short in their final pool game in the Qualifying Draw against Australia.
