Dillon Brooks trolls LeBron James as Grizzlies take Game 2 win over Lakers: 'I don't care, he's old' image

There's no love lost between the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers. Wednesday night at FedEx Forum, the two teams were trading barbs throughout the contest.

As the Grizzlies leveled the series at 1-1, Dillon Brooks was at it again, going toe-to-toe with LeBron James.

Brooks, who has quickly established himself as one of the league's great agitators, had plenty of words for LeBron.

After LeBron drained a midrange jumper over Brooks midway through the third quarter, the pair traded words as the Grizzlies guard followed him down the floor, clapping in his face, as the trash talk between the pair let fly.

He even channeled his inner Lance Stephenson to get under The King's skin.

The back-and-forth continued down the stretch. With 7:49 remaining in the fourth quarter, Brooks drilled a big 3-pointer to extend the Grizzlies' lead to double digits and as he jogged back to the defensive end, he stared down LeBron for several seconds.

He wasn't done there.

In the final 90 seconds of the contest, with the win all but sealed for the Grizzlies, Brooks then hit a dagger 3-pointer and let everyone know about it.

What did Dillon Brooks say postgame?

The Grizzlies guard kept the trash-talking coming during his postgame interview when asked about the interactions with LeBron.

"I don't care, he's old, Brooks said.

"I was waiting for that. I was expecting him to do that Game 4, Game 5. He wanted to say something when I got my fourth foul.

"I poke bears, I don't respect anyone until they come and give me 40. I pride myself on what I do, defense and taking on any challenge that's on the board."

How old is LeBron James?

James was born on Dec. 30, 1984. At 38 years old, he's currently the third-oldest player in the NBA, trailing Udonis Haslem (42) and Andre Iguodala (39).

James is still one of the league's best players in his late 30s. He finished the 2022-23 season averaging 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game, earning him his 19th All-Star selection.
