The Celtics addressed a need in the offseason by signing Danilo Gallinari.
Unfortunately, the veteran sharpshooter is at risk of missing most of the 2022-23 season, if not all of it.
Gallinari was traded from the Hawks to the Spurs following the 2021-22 season. He was subsequently waived, paving the way for him to sign a two-year, $13.3 million deal with the Celtics as an unrestricted free agent. Not only is Gallinari's contract fully guaranteed, but he has a player option for the 2023-24 season.
What's next for Gallinari? Here's everything we know about his injury and the latest news on when he may return to the court.

What is Danilo Gallinari's injury?
Gallinari suffered a left knee injury while playing for the Italian national team this summer.
The Italian national team initially said that Gallinari had suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee, but further evaluation revealed that he had torn his ACL.
It's the second time Gallinari has torn his left ACL, the first coming near the end of the 2012-13 season when he was with the Nuggets. He was sidelined the entire 2013-14 season and returned in 2014-15.
Gallinari has averaged 16.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game since his first ACL tear.
How long will Danilo Gallinari be out?
It's currently unknown how much of the 2022-23 season Gallinari will be sidelined, but a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that he is determined to make a late-season return.
Gallinari indicated that in a statement released on Sept. 2, saying that he will "work tirelessly with the Celtics staff to return to the court as soon as I can."
