Bradley Beal injury update: Wizards star to undergo season-ending wrist surgery image

Bradley Beal's season is reportedly done.

According to reports from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic's Shams Charania, Beal will undergo season-ending surgery on his left wrist.

This comes as a demoralizing blow to a Wizards team that has struggled since getting out to a hot start earlier in the season as it now sits outside of the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament.

Here is everything we know about the injury.

What is Bradley Beal's injury?

In the Wizards' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, Beal went down with a wrist injury after trying to take a charge on Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. He came up holding his left wrist but elected to stay in and finish the game.

He was initially diagnosed with a sprained left wrist, but per Charania, his surgery is to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his wrist.

How long will Bradley Beal be out?

Beal will be out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Washington will look to remain in the postseason hunt without Beal, who ends the season averaging a team-high 23.2 points to go with 6.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game.
