Asmat Kaur Taunque, an NBA Academy India Women's Camp Alum, signed with the California Institute of Technology, an NCAA Division III Institution in the USA.
She announced the commitment via an Instagram post on her handle.
That would make her the fourth-ever Indian - all women - to have played college basketball in the NCAA circuits with the other three being Kavita Akula, Sanjana Ramesh and Harsimran Kaur (later in 2021).
As per Kaur's post back in April, when she announced CalTech offering her an admission, she will be part of the class of 2025.

The 17-year-old Asmat Kaur Taunque, who was accepted into the Lawrenceville School in August of 2019, was also part of the first two NBA Academy India Women's Camps in May 2018 and January 2019 respectively at the NBA Academy India facility at Jaypee Greens Integrated Sports Complex in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).

A former captain of the Maharashtra U16 girls squad, she was part of the India roster at the 2017 FIBA U-16 Women's Asia Championship that clinched the Division B title, which would eventually earn them the promotion to Division A.
