Shohei Ohtani has had a remarkable year, becoming the first ever 50-50 player in MLB history as he heads into his first ever MLB playoff appearance.
Perhaps his biggest milestone was getting married, something he announced in February.
“Not only have I began a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers, but I also have began a new life with someone from my native country of Japan who is very special to me and I wanted everyone to know I am now married,” Ohtani said on Instagram before the season.

Who is Shohei Ohtani's wife?
Mamiko Tanaka is a 27-year-old former basketball player who spent her entire career playing in Japan.
Standing at 5-11, Tanaka played both power forward and center in her career before she retired.

Mamiko Tanaka basketball career
Tanaka played college basketball at Waseda University in Tokyo, then spent four seasons playing for the Fujitsu Red Wave in the Women’s Japan Basketball League. During that stretch, the Red Wave made the playoffs each season, with its best finish being a loss in the 2022 Finals.
Following the 2022-23 season, Tanaka retired from professional basketball.
