Nobody will ever wear No. 1 again in a Miami Heat uniform.

At halftime of the Heat's matchup with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, the franchise honoured and celebrated Chris Bosh's time in Miami by retiring his jersey.

The Heat played a tribute video for Bosh...

...before raising his number to the rafters.

In Bosh's six seasons with the Heat, he averaged 18.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. He was named an All-Star each season and won back-to-back championships with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

LeBron wasn't able to be there in person — the Los Angeles Lakers had a game of their own on Wednesday — but he had a message for his former teammate.

"I don't win my championships in Miami without him, without you," LeBron said in a video.

"What he meant to that team, you know, all those years he was down there in Miami, either when I was there my four years or even the couple years when I was gone, he’s just a true definition of what a professional was all about. It was never about him, it was always about the team.

"I wish I could be there, man, to see that No. 1 going to the rafters, but I'll definitely be watching, reposting, retweeting, whatever I got to do to show my support and my love. CB forever"
