A shorthanded Los Angeles Lakers roster put up a fight, but the Denver Nuggets, the Conference's second-best team, came into LA and handed the hosts their fourth-straight loss

The Lakers, currently placed 10th in the West, now fall  6.5 games behind the eighth-seeded LA Clippers , with a tough schedule looming for the remainder of the regular season.

On a night when LeBron James passed Michael Jordan for the fourth spot on NBA's all-time scoring list, the King recorded 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists on 13-of-22 shooting.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, as the deep Nuggets snapped their own three-game losing streak with this win. The Nuggets, who were led by Will Barton's 23 points, cut into the Golden State Warriors' lead for the top spot in the Western Conference.

The young and rising squad from Denver is now just a game behind the two-time defending champs with the next game on their schedule against the Warriors at the Oracle Arena after a day off.
