Records broken during LeBron James' 51-point explosion in Miami image

In two of the last three games, LeBron James has been absolutely phenomenal for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Last Wednesday night at the Staples Center, a night that was headlined by LeBron passing Wilt Chamberlain on the league's all-time scoring list, he put up a near triple-double of 44 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists to go with 3 blocks on 68.4% shooting in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

On Sunday in Miami, after playing in Orlando the previous night on the team's 3-game road trip, LeBron went off yet again.

Playing 38 minutes, the King recorded a season-high 51 points to go with 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals on 61.3% shooting and 75% (6-8 FG's) on 3's. For any player, fifty points is a huge landmark, let alone for a player who is considered a dominant pass-first player. Also, the performance came in a win, which led to plenty of records being broken.

Ten of the James' twelve 50-point games have for the Cleveland Cavaliers while he's had one each for the Miami Heat and the Lakers.

Note: All three players - LeBron, Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar accomplished the feat (most 40-point games during the 16th season or later) as a member of the Lakers.

The only other active player from the above illustrious list is Jamal Crawford, who tallied his 50-point games as a member of the New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls.

If LeBron continues this scoring streak, he's going to be reaching scoring heights as a Lakers that were last touched by the Black Mamba (even the all-time scoring list).

At the end of the day, the win is what matters the most though.

The spotlight on LeBron and the Lakers will move from Miami to Cleveland as the team will play the third and final game of its ongoing road trip against the Cavaliers. It will be James' first and only game at the Quicken Loans Arena this season since signing with the Lakers this past offseason.
