On Jan. 24, 2022, Harsimran Kaur had a career game for her team - the San Diego Toreros
As a freshman, she played a career-high 17 minutes to finish with career-high tallies of 13 points (also a team-high) and six rebounds while shooting 6-of-8 from the field.
In doing so, she became the first Indian ever to score as a freshman in the elite NCAA D1 College Basketball Level.

Overall, she became the third Indian-born player ever to play and score at this level with the other two Indians making their scoring debuts as a sophomore and junior.

Harsimran Kaur
Since the start of 2019, Kaur has been one of the best NBA Academy India prospects - male and female.
The reigning Camp MVP of the NBA Academy India Women's Program, she made history in Nov. 2019 when she became the first prospect from the NBA Academy Women's Program to be invited to the NBA Global Academy in Canberra, Australia.
After participating as one of only three Indian prospects at the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp at the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago, she was invited to the NBA Global Academy for a second time.
Sanjana Ramesh
Sanjana, currently playing at Northern Arizona University, is a 6-foot forward and alum of the NBA Academy India Women's Program.
She was a co-MVP of the program's first-ever camp held in May of 2018 and went on to be named MVP of the ensuing Basketball Without Borders Camp at the NBA Academy India facility at Jaypee Greens Integrated Sports Complex in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).
Six months after those camps, Sanjana became the first alum from the NBA Academy India Women's Program to commit to NAU when she signed a letter of intent, making her only the second Indian-born female player after Kavita Akula to receive a Division I Basketball Scholarship
Kavita Akula
In 2019, Kavita Akula became the first-ever Indian (male or female) to graduate from an NCAA Division 1 college.
As a senior, in the final year, she started and played in all 27 games of the season. She tallied 147 points in 870 minutes of work while shooting .338 (50-of-148) from field-goal range and .326 (46-of-141) from the three-point line.

A native of Bhilai, a city in Chhattisgarh, Akula transferred to the Grand Canyon University (GCU), Phoenix after completing her two years at the Garden City Community College, Kansas. The 5-foot-5 guard. Her journey began in 2010 as one of eight Indians to earn a basketball scholarship to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
She was in the same class at the Academy as Satnam Singh.
