Anthony and the Rockets have mutually come to the decision to part ways, the team announced Friday, but there are no immediate plans to waive him.

Anthony has not been with the team for its last three games – after missing two with an illness, the 10-time All-Star did not travel with the team on its one-game trip to face the Denver Nuggets Wednesday.

The news comes ahead of the Rockets' Western Conference Finals rematch with the Golden State Warriors.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski added that Houston will keep Anthony on its roster for the time being as it is the best course of action – injuries and trades could allow an opportunity elsewhere for Anthony to open up in due time.

In 10 games this season, Anthony is averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, but the Rockets got off to a 4-6 start in the games in which he was active. Houston signed Anthony for the veteran's minimum this offseason after he was traded from Oklahoma City and bought out by Atlanta.

Houston enters tonight's game against Golden State with a 6-7 record having won two straight games over Indiana and Denver.
