The path to the PGA Tour Championship has been as narrow as ever, but we finally know which 30 golfers will be competing for the tour's 2023 title at East Lake Golf Club.
The FedEx Cup Playoffs began with 70 hopeful golfers competing for the PGA Tour title. That number was whittled down to 50 ahead of the BMW Championship, where the remaining golfers fought tooth-and-nail to get into the final 30.
After a back-and-forth tournament that featured a crowded leaderboard on its final day, Viktor Hovland emerged as the winner after shooting a course-record 61. That pushed him up to No. 2 in the FedEx Cup standings — behind only runner-up Scottie Scheffler — and ensured that he would be among the favorites to win the PGA Tour Championship.
Meanwhile, several notable golfers danced on the top-30 bubble during the tournament. Jordan Spieth, Tyrrell Hatton, Sepp Straka and Sahith Theegala had to hold their collective breath as each looked to stamp their tickets to East Lake, and not all were able to make the cut.
