Top Storylines

Spurs drop 44 points in the fourth to stun Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers led by as many as 12 points in the fourth quarter, but the San Antonio Spurs quickly made the difference disappear with a late scoring outburst to seal a 133-120 win.

DeMar DeRozan scored 11 of his 36 points in the final frame, taking over down the stretch to help San Antonio win the season series 3-1.

While DeRozan was the star man, he got plenty of help from the second unit, which outscored the Lakers bench 54-26, with eight different Spurs scoring in double figures.

L.A. had their offence humming early, scoring 72 points in the first half, but ran out of steam down the stretch, unable to get stops and keep DeRozan away from the rim.

LeBron James led the way for the Lakers with 35 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds, while Kyle Kuzma added 27 points and eight rebounds. Encouragingly Lonzo Ball impressed again, with 13 points, 11 assists and four rebounds as he and James became the first Laker teammates to record double-digit assists in the same game since Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol in 2013.

Iguodala sparks Warriors in win over Bucks

On a night where Kevin Durant struggled to get going and Klay Thompson and Steph Curry saw plenty of defensive attention, veteran Andre Iguodala put in a steadying performance to lead the Warriors to a 105-95 win voer the Milwaukee Bucks.

In 28 minutes, Iggy scored 15 points, grabbed eight rebounds and kicked the Warriors into gear when things got tight. With the scores tied at 62-62, he buried a three-pointer and flushed home a dunk as Golden State went on an 8-0 run.

With Durant, scoring just 11 points on 3-of-14 shooting, Iggy and Jonas Jerebko filled in as the third and fourth Splash Brothers as the Warriors connected on 19-of-46 from deep. Iguodala finished with three triples, while Jerebko, Curry and Thmopson had four apiece.

It was the opposite story for the Bucks, who couldn't buy a three-pointer, going 7-of-39 from beyond the arc as they scored a season-low 95 points, shooting just 39% from the field.

Butler sparks 76ers comeback

Without Joel Embiid in the lineup, Jimmy Butler steered the ship as the 76ers rallied from 15 points down to beat the Pistons 117-111.

No buzzer beaters were required today as Butler scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to turn the game on its head and grab the W.

Ben Simmons added 18 points, 14 rebounds and six assists on the night as Philly move to 18-9 on the season.

Encouragingly for the 76ers, they got it done on the defensive side of the floor, without their rim protector. Butler, Simmons and Mike Muscala set the tone, especially in the fourth quarter, with Muscala coming up with three big blocks down the stretch.

Westbrook triple-double not enough as Markkanen calls game

Russell Westbrook recorded his fifth triple-double of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Bulls escaped with a 114-112 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Westbrook poured in 24 points (9-of-21 FG), 17 rebounds, 13 assists and four steals, but it was Lauri Markkanen who stole the headlines, burying the late go-ahead bucket with 4.9 seconds remaining.

The Finnish sophomore put the moves on Paul George, before finishing high over Steven Adams to put his team in front.
