The 2024 Formula One season continues at pace as we enter race week for the 14th time this campaign, and after a race of firsts at the Hungaroring last time out, we head to the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for the 80th edition of the Belgian Grand Prix.

A long summer of consecutive races held across Europe takes the drivers to Belgium as the fifth meeting of seven in a row on the continent, and coming just a week after the 2024 World Drivers' Championship race took another huge twist in Hungary, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri claiming a first-ever career victory.

Piastri and his teammate Lando Norris recorded a surprise one-two finish at the Hungaroring, coming in somewhat controversial fashion with seemingly runaway Norris being instructed to allow the Australian to pass him for the win towards the end of the race. Only 2.141 seconds separated the pair in the end, with Norris' fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton 14.88s behind him in third.

Defending champion Max Verstappen, who had won the last two Hungarian Grands Prix, had another day to forget, finishing fifth in between the two Ferraris of a resurgent Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The Red Bull star has now failed to win any of the last three races, his longest stretch without a victory since the 2021 season!

This weekend's meeting at Spa, however, gives the three-time world champion a chance to return to winning ways, having claimed victory in last year's Belgian Grand Prix by over 22 seconds. Hamilton, Norris, and Piastri on the crest of a wave won't be letting him back into the winners' circle lightly though, setting up another fantastic raceday.

The 2024 Belgian Grand Prix weekend is just a few hours away from the first practice session, and for all the scheduling, TV and streaming details you'll need to follow the action, look no further than The Sporting News for a full guide.
