Palestine vs Australia lineups, team news

Australia boss Graham Arnold has named a relatively experimental squad, but most of the usual faces were in action against Bangladesh.

With World Cup qualification at stake, a similarly strong starting XI can be expected against Palestine, with centre-back Harry Souttar among the star names set to start.

Australia projected lineup (4-4-1-1): Ryan (GK) — Miller, Souttar, Rowles, Bos — Metcalfe, Baccus, Irvine, Goodwin — Borrello — Duke

Palestine rested defensive midfielder Mohammed Rashid and centre-back Yaser Hamed Mayor against Lebanon, but the pair of international regulars can be expected to be return for this one.

Striker Mahmoud Wadi, who is currently on loan at Egyptian Premier League club Tala'ea El Gaish, could also start in attack.

Palestine projected lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Hamadeh (GK) — Al-Battat, Saleh, Hamed, Saldanah — Sayem, Rashid, Dabbagh — Chihadeh, Jaber, Wadi

Palestine vs Australia prediction, odds

Australia are huge favourites to beat opponents who are 69 places below their FIFA ranking of 27, with bookmakers anticipating a victory to nil.

The Socceroos beat Palestine 3-0 in these teams' only meeting in modern times, in the 2019 Asian Cup. That scoreline looks the likeliest outcome again.

Prediction: Palestine 0-3 Australia
