When is the Champions League Round of 16 draw?

The draw for the Champions League Round of 15 took place on Monday, December 18 at 12 p.m. CET (6 a.m. ET).

The draw was split into seeded and unseeded teams. The eight group-stage winners were seeded and faced a team from the unseeded pot of runners-up. Seeded teams will play the second leg of their last-16 tie at home.

Clubs could not draw a team from their domestic league in the Round of 16, nor the other team that qualified from their group. For example, Manchester City could not have been paired with RB Leipzig.

These restrictions will be removed in favour of an open draw for the quarterfinals.
