The Women's World Cup quarterfinals begin with a blockbuster clash between two European sides, as the Netherlands look to progress to the semifinals for the second World Cup in a row when they take on Spain in Wellington.
The Netherlands had an ultimately comfortable progression to the quarterfinals in their 2-0 win over South Africa, whilst Spain showed they were far from being outsiders in the tournament when they defeated Switzerland 5-1.
The memories of their 4-0 trouncing by Japan in the group stages still linger, though, and Jorge Vilda will be desperate to ensure his side don't repeat that performance in their latest elimination game.
The Netherlands have only conceded one goal at the tournament but will get their biggest test against a Spain team that hasn't been afraid of hitting the back of the net.

Spain vs Netherlands lineups, team news
After their 4-0 loss to Japan, Vilda swung the axe and made multiple changes to their starting lineup for their Round of 16 clash against Switzerland, most notably dropping goalkeeper Maria Rodriguez, captain Ivana Andres and two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas.
With a large win in the resulting match, it will be interesting to see if any of the dropped players will make their way back into the starting lineup, with replacement centre-back Laia Codina scoring both an own goal and a goal at the right end, and goalkeeper Catalina Coll rarely being tested by a poor Switzerland side.
Putellas has played little football at the World Cup, never playing a full 90 minutes, and with the strong performances of Jennifer Hermoso and Aitana Bonmati in her absence from the starting side, she may have to accept a spot on the bench once again for this do-or-die clash.
Spain projected starting lineup: 23. Coll (GK) — 12. Hernandez, 4. Paredes, 5. Andres, 2. Batlle — 6. Bonmati, 3. Abelleira, 10. Hermoso — 17. Redondo, 9. Gonzalez, 18. Paralluelo
By contrast, the Netherlands have kept a very settled lineup throughout the tournament, with the only change being Katja Snoeijs replacing Lineth Beerensteyn for two group games due to the latter's injury, with Beerensteyn returning in the Round of 16 and scoring the clincher against South Africa.
In the absence of Vivianne Miedema, Jill Roord has impressed by scoring four goals from midfield, whilst Esmee Brugts, Danielle van de Donk and Victoria Pelova have all been impressive in the middle spots. Van de Donk, however, will miss this game due to suspension.
The back three has remained solid throughout the tournament, though it will face a difficult test against a Spanish side who have scored five goals in single games twice already.
Netherlands projected starting lineup: 1. Van Domselaar (GK) — 8. Spitse, 3. Van der Gragt, 20. Janssen — 17. Pelova, 6. Roord, 21. Egurolla, 22. Brugts — 7. Beerensteyn, 11. Martens
Spain vs Netherlands betting odds
