Mexico vs Ghana projected lineups, team news

Jaime Lozano has the majority of his key stars available for this game, with captain Guillermo Ochoa included, alongside Premier League duo Raul Jimenez and Edson Alvarez. Star winger Hirving Lozano, newly at PSV this season, is finally healthy after being out since March with a knee injury.

Veteran pair Hector Moreno and Hector Herrera have been left out as the head coach looks to move in a more youthful direction. That is still a big call, as Herrera has played well with the Houston Dynamo this season.

Mexico projected lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Ochoa (GK) — Alvarez, Vasquez, Montes, Arteaga — Alvarez, Pineda — Cordova, Gimenez, Lozano —Jimenez

Ghana head coach Chris Hughton also has a strong Premier League influence in his squad, including Alvarez's West Ham teammate Mohammed Kudus and Athletic Club striker Inaki Williams.

Ghana projected lineup (4-2-3-1 right to left): At-Zigi (GK) — Seidu, Aidoo, Amartey, Lamptey — Partey, Owusu — Bukari, Kudus, Ayew — Williams

Mexico vs Ghana prediction, odds

Draws in the USA against Australia and Uzbekistan make it difficult to assess where Mexico are in terms of form, and Hughton's talented squad won both of their matches in the September window.

Prediction: Mexico 2-2 Ghana
